Discover what it took to bring Privé Island to life

With seasoned engineering firms guiding every step of the process, the construction of Privé Island has been a spectacular feat of passion, expertise and dedication. It took several committed, experienced teams and a lot––and we mean a lot––of resources to bring these blueprints to life.

As details begin taking shape inside and out, we reflect on just how many resources it took to create Privé. Let’s look at the numbers:

100,000 Cubic Yards of Cement
That’s more than 2,000,000 gallons. To fill a pool with that much cement, it would have to be 100 feet on both sides…and also 100 feet deep.

5,000 Tons of Rebar
Lined up end-to-end, that’s enough rebar to stretch all the way from Miami to Denver – or encircle our 8-acre building site more than 7,500 times.

400 Interior Glass Doors
Lined up end-to-end, our doors could be used to create a continuous glass walkway from Privé Island to the Atlantic Ocean.

520 Construction Workers
If they stood on each other’s shoulders, our crew would stretch half a mile into the sky – well past the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa. Talk about manpower!

4 Tower Cranes
Together, our four construction cranes can lift 158,760 pounds – or 72 metric tons. That means each crane could easily lift a 30-foot whale into the air.

700 Construction Days
We welcome about 40 cement trucks per day. Over a two-year span, more than 28,000 loads of cement were trucked onto Privé Island.
